Bring warm, rustic character to your floor or backsplash with this handcrafted porcelain Texas Star medallion. Contrasting light and dark tiles give each star point visual depth.
Tile availability and selection
The tiles shown in the photos have been discontinued and are no longer available. I can craft this design using similar, but not identical, porcelain tiles.
After you order, I’ll contact you within two business days to discuss available tiles and email or text photos of the options before proceeding.
If you do not like any of the available options and do not want to proceed, I will issue a full refund to your original method of payment.
Design and colors
The design uses darker tile on the right side of each star point and throughout the border, with lighter tile on the left side of each point and in the background.
The intended palette combines warm browns, rust tones, and beiges in the darker areas, with light beige, blonde, and light brown tones in the lighter areas. Some tiles may include darker brown or gray accents. Your final colors will depend on the replacement tiles you select.

Q: Hello, Your designs are beautiful. We were wondering if the Porcelain Tile Texas Star Floor Medallion in a 30 X 30 size would be able to mount as a feature wall in a kitchen back splash above the cooktop? A: Hello Laura, Thank you for your kind words. Yes, any of my porcelain tile Texas Stars can be installed either as a floor medallion or as a backsplash. Also, I am usually able to make the medallion from the tile of your choice. Let me know if you have any more questions. Tracy Jackson
Q: How thick is the medallion? We are ordering traveltine which is very thick to go around our pool. A: Thank you for your inquiry, This particular porcelain tile is approximately 3/8" thick. If your tile is thicker, you might discuss with your tile contractor whether or not they are able to build up the area where the medallion would be installed to bring it level with the thicker tile. Also, I am able to make a Texas Star medallion from travertine as well - even somewhat thicker travertine. Q: Could this be used outdoors installed within a damaged spot on a "kool deck" around a pool? If not, do you have any suggestions for this approximate 12x12" spot. I hate to replace the entire decking when only one spot is chipped off. Thanks. A: Hi Dianna, Since this Texas Star medallion is made from porcelain tile, it can certainly be installed outside / exposed to the elements. Click here to see my testimonials page - scroll down and you will see this same Texas Star medallion installed on one of my customer's pool decks. However, I am not familiar with "kool deck" and do not know what would need to be done to prepare that area for installation of a tile medallion (possibly just removing the Kool deck in the size of the medallion so that the Texas Star can be installed directly on the concrete). All items are packaged to provide maximum protection during shipping.
The amount I charge for shipping is automatically calculated based on UPS's present shipping rates and covers my cost for shipping, packaging materials, and my time. The higher shipping cost for some of my items is due to the item's weight and /or bulkiness.
Due to the weight of my products, all items are shipped either via UPS Ground (or upon request, FedEx Ground).
A few customizations include: made with the Tile of Your Choice, a unique, non-standard size or shape, a hole for a Pot Filler Faucet, a custom kiln-fired glass accent in the color of your choice . . . and more.
