Mosaic Stone Fleur de Lis (Elegance Style) Backsplash Medallion. Backsplash is a complete backsplash medallion with both the Backsplash Surround and Fleur de Lis Insert. The background of the medallion will be made from Iceberg Honed Marble 3" Hexagon Mosaic tile by Maravilla. The frame of the medallion will be made from Athena Polished Marble Pencil tile by Maravilla.

The medallion will be attached to fiberglass mesh and divided into a left and right section for ease of handling and installation. The Fleur de Lis Tile Insert will be packaged separately.

The Fleur de Lis Backsplash Insert will be made with approximately 600 hand placed marble tesserae and a custom glass accent band in the color of your choice (please include requested color in note at checkout).

Available Sizes: 18” x 18”, 24” x 24”, 30” x 30”, 33" wide x 27" tall (other sizes by request)
Material: Hand cut marble tesserae, Iceberg Honed Marble 3" Hexagon Mosaic tile with matching Marble Pencil tile for the border
Fleur de Lis Style: Elegance

Important: I do not recommend this style mosaic fleur de lis for installation behind a often used cooktop or where water may regularly splash on it. The hand made fleur de lis on this particular medallion is highly textured, with numerous small crevices where splashed food may be very difficult to clean / remove without damaging this piece of art. One remedy would be to have your contractor install clear tempered glass with standoffs in front of the medallion.

The Crafting Process

I make each medallion sold on my website using a variety of manual and power tools. I start with the rough cutting of the fleur de lis, star or turtle. Next I grind smooth the edges till it is just right. I move outward from there until every piece is ready. Your medallion is then attached to mesh (or occasionally a backer board), carefully packaged, and shipped to you, ready for installation.
