Fleur de Lis (Elegance Style) Backsplash Medallion - with Mosaic Stone Insert

The Fleur de Lis (Elegance Style) Sahara Carrara Marble Backsplash is a complete backsplash medallion with both the Backsplash Surround and Fleur de Lis Insert. The Backsplash Surround is made from Sahara Carrara Marble tile - in a brick pattern, with matching Sahara Carrara Marble Pencil tile for a simple, but elegant frame around the backsplash. The Backsplash Surround is attached to fiberglass mesh for ease of handling and installation.
The pictured Fleur de Lis Backsplash Insert is made with over 600 hand placed marble tesserae with glass accents throughout and a beautiful glass accent band. However, I now make the fleur de lis larger (and with more tesserae) in those medallions that are at least 24" tall - this will make the fleur de lis larger in proportion to the rest of the medallion than the pictured medallion.
The Fleur de Lis Tile Insert is left unattached to the fiberglass mesh for easier handling and installation.

Important: I do not recommend this style mosaic fleur de lis for installation behind a often used cooktop or where water may regularly splash on it. The hand made fleur de lis on this particular medallion is highly textured, with numerous small crevices where splashed food may be very difficult to clean / remove without damaging this piece of art. One remedy would be to have your contractor install clear tempered glass with standoffs in front of the medallion.

Q: I am considering buying this in the 32" size - but I want the part around the fleur de lis to be made from the exact same Calacatta Gold marble tile that will be installed in my new kitchen. Can I send you the tile I want used for this? Also, do you offer this in other non-square sizes (maybe 32" wide but only 28" tall)? Thank you. A: Hello - Yes, I am able to use customer provided tile to make a medallion. I am also able to make your medallion to any size you require. Q: We would like to look into this backsplash in a 30wx18h. Also, we would like to do one in white and grey with bits of black. Have you done any with similar colors? If so, could you send me a picture of it. Thanks! A: Hi Gary, I can certainly make this in a 30" wide x 18" tall. With regard to color, I can make it in the color of your choice. While I have not made a mosaic stone fleur de lis using white and gray stone, I did make a Houston Astros World Series art piece using a marble tile that was mostly white with some gray veining. Click here to see that piece. If you would like to see more pictures of it if it, let me know. While there are no "bits of black" in that piece, I could include some black glass chips / pieces as accents within the Fleur de Lis and / or, the glass accent band could be made in black.
